Motor Operated Rolling Grilles
- Between Jamb Mounted or Tube Mounted
Mounting: Between Jamb Mounted or Tube
Mounted
Features
- Designed to a standard maximum 25 cycles per day and an overall maximum
of 50,000 operating cycles for the life of the grille.
- Solid 5⁄16” Aluminum Rods
- The bottom bar consists of an extruded aluminum tube measuring 4” high
by 1¾” deep and includes safety edge system.
- The guides are constructed of a ¼” thick continuous aluminum wall
angle
connected to 1½” by 2½” by
⅛” thick
continuous extruded aluminum guide section.
- Continuous nylon wearstrips are inserted on both sides of the guide to
eliminate metal-to-metal contact.
- The brackets are constructed of steel not less than
¼” thick
- The barrel is steel tubing of not less than 6” in diameter.
- Oil tempered torsion springs are capable of correctly counter balancing
the weight of the curtain.
- The barrel is designed to limit the maximum deflection to .03” per foot
of opening width.
- The springs are adjusted by means of an exterior wheel.
- The hood is fabricated from .040 aluminum sheet and will be formed to
fit the curvature of the brackets.
Finish:
- Bronze Anodize:
The finish on the rods and links, bottom bar, aluminum wall angle and the
aluminum guide, and on the hood, is bronze anodized.
The finish on the brackets and on the barrel is one (1) coat of bronze rust-inhibiting paint.
- Clear Anodize:
The finish on the rods and links, bottom bar, aluminum wall angle and aluminum guide,
and on the hood is 204-R1 clear anodized.
The finish on the brackets is one (1) coat of aluminum prime paint.
The finish on the barrel is one (1) coat of bronze rust-inhibiting
paint.
- Mill:
The finish on the rods and links, bottom bar, aluminum wall angle and the
aluminum guide, and on the hood, is mill finish.
The finish on the brackets is one (1) coat of aluminum prime paint.
The finish on the barrel is one (1) coat of bronze rust-inhibiting
paint.
- Stainless Steel:
The finish on the rods and links, and bottom bar is #2B.
The finish on the aluminum wall angle and the aluminum guide is 204-R1 clear anodized.
The finish on the brackets is one (1) coat of aluminum prime paint.
The finish on the barrel is one (1) coat of bronze rust-inhibiting paint.
The finish on the hood is #4.
Grille Pattern:
- Standard, for grilles to 30'0" wide:
The grille curtain will be Pattern 5014-M92 constructed of solid 5⁄16”
diameter horizontal aluminum rods on 2” centers with
⅛” aluminum hinged
vertical connecting links (⅝” deep by 3¾” high) 9” on center.
- Heavy, for all size grilles
The grille curtain will be heavy duty Pattern 5015-9 constructed of
solid 5⁄16” diameter horizontal aluminum rods with
½” tube spacers on
1½” centers with 3⁄16” thick aluminum hinged vertical connecting links
(⅝” deep by 2¼” high) 9” on center.
Other patterns, including 3” and 6” spacing are available on request. All-Rite
designers frequently work with architects and owners in the development of customized
grille patterns.
Safety Edge System:
- Featheredge:
The bottom bar includes the Featheredge safety edge system. The Featheredge
rolling door safety edge system includes the following features:
- The Featheredge device will be installed on the bottom bar of the door
and will automatically reverse the door if the device detects an obstruction
in the downward travel of the door.
- The Featheredge consists of a rubber boot attached below the bottom bar
with an electrical switch secured to the back of the bottom bar.
- The Featheredge operates with air wave technology and does not rely on
pneumatic pressure or electrical strip contacts to operate properly.
- The Featheredge creates an air wave that will be detected and reverse the
direction of the rolling door.
- The operation of the Featheredge is not subject to interferences by
temperature, barometric pressure, water infiltration, or cuts in the rubber
boot.
- The Featheredge is connected to the motor with a coil cord.
- Phantom Featheredge:
The bottom bar includes the Phantom Featheredge safety edge system. The Phantom
Featheredge rolling door safety edge system includes the following features:
- The Phantom Featheredge device will be installed on the bottom bar of the door
and will automatically reverse the door if the device detects an obstruction
in the downward travel of the door.
- The Phantom Featheredge consists of a rubber boot attached below the bottom bar
with a switch secured to the back of the bottom bar.
- The Phantom Featheredge operates with air wave technology and does not rely on
pneumatic pressure or electrical contacts to operate.
- The Phantom Featheredge creates an air wave that will be detected by the switch
which reverses the downward direction of the rolling door.
- The Phantom Featheredge does not require a connection cord or any means of
electrical connection to the motor control panel.
- The Phantom Featheredge is of fail-safe construction, and on every cycle performs
a self diagnostic test. If any part of the Phantom Featheredge fails, the door
closing operation changes from momentary pressure to constant pressure requiring
constant pressure on the close control station to move the door in a downward motion.
Repairing the Phantom Featheredge will automatically return the closing operation
to momentary pressure.
- The operation of the Phantom Featheredge is not subject to interferences by
temperature, barometric pressure, water infiltration, or punctures and small tears.
- The Phantom Featheredge performs with an extremely small amount of impact pressure.
Operation:
The motor will be one of:
- Belt Drive or Motor (Gearhead - Horizontal)
The grille is operated at a speed of 2/3 foot per second by an open
drip-proof electric motor with belt drive and roller chain sprocket reducer.
- Motor (Gearhead - Vertical)
The grille is operated at a speed of 2/3 foot per second by an open
drip-proof electric motor with gear reducer in oil bath.
The motor operator
includes a geared limit switch, and an electrically
interlocked emergency chain operator. The motor starter is be housed in a
NEMA 1 housing and includes a magnetic reversing starter size 0, a 24 volt
control transformer, and complete terminal strip to facilitate field wiring.
The motor operator is activated by [a 3 button push-button station] [other
controls as selected] in a NEMA 1 enclosure. The motor is the size as required
by the grille [115 volts single phase] [230 volts single phase] [230 volts
three phase] [460 volts three phase]. The motor operator is mounted to the
grille bracket. All motor operators are U.L. listed.
Locking Mechanisms
- Motor operated grilles are secured by means of a cylinder lock in the
bottom bar, electrically interlocked to prevent the motor from operating
when the grille is locked.
Installation
- All-Rite Aluminum Rolling Grilles must installed by an authorized
All-Rite representative.
Warranty
- All-Rite Aluminum Rolling Grilles are warranted for a period of
2 years from the time of shipment against defects in workmanship and materials.
