Truck Restraints

The most dangerous aspects of loading and unloading trailers is trailer creep caused by a lift truck entering and exiting the trailer or when a driver starts to pull away from the dock while he is still being loaded. While wheel chocks can help they are not as effective as an automated vehicle restraint system.

The most popular is the ICC bar type restraint system. These devices may be mechanically operated (ML10) or hydraulically operated (TL85)

When selecting a vehicle restraint it is important to consider the operating range required, restraining capacity, and the flexibility needed to adapt to the wide variety of trailer ICC bars, as well as the functions it must be able to perform:

  • Prevent premature trailer departure.
  • Limit trailer creep away from the dock.
  • Restrict trailer movement to keep the extended lip of the dock leveler in place on the bed of the trailer.
  • Prevent trailer theft

The restraint must also be designed to withstand the environment in which it is installed. The location of the vehicle restraint is one of the harshest and least maintained in a typical facility.

Avoid the drop-off zone and danger of costly insurance claims and worker injury. Order the TL-85 Truck Restraint System alone or in combination with a All-Rite hydraulic dock leveler. Also available is our manual vehicle restraint, the ML-10.

Driver Communications Systems

Loading Dock Safety requires much than just innovative design in vehicle restraints. So All-Rite delivers premium quality Driver Communication Systems. These combinations of signal lights, controls and signage advise both vehicle driver and dock attendant of safe/unsafe, park/depart conditions. High visibility safety systems are available for automated, integrated and manual control situations.

Dock Safety

Signaling devices are useful especially in high volume dock areas. They can be used to indicate the correct dock to back into as well as to signal the lift truck operator that it is safe to enter the trailer (automatically checking truck restraining devices and dock levelers)

Our Door and Dock Guard (XDS-2000) not only avoids the drop-off zone but also protects against impact damage to the overhead door.

Traffic & Guide Lights

Loading Dock LED traffic signal lightsBackup up to a step forward in technology with our Guide Light System.  Easily installed, our Traffic Lights and Guide Lights increase dock safety for attendants, truck drivers and forklift drivers.  Costly damage is also reduced.  Ultra intense LEDs (light-emitting diode) offer superior visibility in any dock lighting condition.

Available Accessories/Options include Caution Signage and a variety of Control Panels
