XDS-2000 Extra Dock Safety System


All-Rite reduces the risks of costly equipment damage and physical injury while increasing productivity with the Extra Dock Safety System (XDS). Our Door and Dock Guard that not only avoids the drop-off zone but also protects against impact damage to the overhead door.

The XDS-2000 features our hydraulic Door and Dock Guard, Vehicle Restraint with lights communication package and I-beam Dock Leveler.

Door & Dock Guard

  • The heavy-duty raised guard is specifically designed to prevent forklift
    roll-off when the overhead door is open and no truck is present
    and to protect overhead doors and tracks from regular
    impact damage
  • Can withstand 10,000 lbs (4,545 kg) rolling load at 4mph (6.4 kmh)
  • The raised safety guard protects forklifts and personnel from the
  • dangers of the drop zone when the overhead door is open and no trucks are present
  • Hydraulically activated, high tensile checker plate safety
    barrier, towering over 7” (178 mm) above the deck
  • Also acts as a pallet stop to guard door panels and tracks from regular impact damage when the overhead door is closed

Vehicle Restraint

  • The unique, non-impact hydraulic gate design swings up to confine the rear impact guard, applying 35,000 lbs (15,909 kg) of restraining force

Dock Leveler

  • Available in 30,000 lb (13,636 kg) to 80,000 lb (36,364 kg) capacities
  • Strength is the hallmark with heavy-duty I-beam deck construction
  • Exclusive 4” (102 mm) maintained deck tilt prolongs deck life, reduces load stresses, and prevents forklift damage
  • Fully hydraulic operation with 1 HP self-contained TEFC maintenance-free power pack, designed to provide years of trouble-free use (available in standard single and three phase voltages)
  • Auto return to cross traffic position from above and below level
  • 16” (406 mm) long lip (lip is tapered on 7’ / 2,134 mm wide models)
  • Pivot points fitted with pre-lubricated bushings
  • Terminal block provision for overhead door interlock
  • Full operating toe guards, safety maintenance strut and two laminated 4.5” x 14” x 10” (114 mm x 356 mm x 254 mm) provide extra safety to personnel and building

Control Station

Type: Electro-hydraulic operated solid steel barrier incorporated into the deck designed to protect forklifts from accidental roll-off when the overhead door is open and protects overhead door panels and tracks from regular impact damage when the door is closed. Overall dimension 7.5” (190mm) high x full width of deck less 6” per side x minimum ” thick high tensile checker steel plate.

Hydraulic Operating System: Easy to operate, quiet, smooth and automatic cycling. Door and Guard is kept in the upright by upward biased spring tension and is retracted with power down hydraulics. Upon cycling of the dock leveler, the guard automatically retracts and lies flush with the deck providing unobstructed flow of traffic. When the dock is cycled and returned to stored position, the guard automatically returns to the upright position. Supervisor override key switch with indicator light provided on the control station for end-loading and ground level hand bombing requirements.


DOCK LEVELER:

Vertical Travel: Working range of 12” (305mm) above and 12” (305mm) below dock level.

Automatic Vertical Compensation: Unit provides float of 12” (305mm) above and 12” (305mm) below dock level.

Automatic Lateral Compensation: Provides maintained side-to-side deck tilt of up to 4” (101mm) to compensate for canted vehicle beds.

Lip Operation: Hydraulically powered lip, controlled independently of main deck cylinder. Lip will yield under impact of incoming vehicle and will automatically drop pendant upon vehicle's departure. The length of the lip extension shall not be less than 16” (406mm) from the ramp edge.

Automatic ramp return to cross traffic position: From the raised or lowered positions, unloaded ramp can automatically return to stored cross-traffic position, upon vehicle’s departure.

 

Hydraulic Operating System: Easy to operate, quiet and smooth cycling. Electro-hydraulic raising and hydraulic lowering of the dock ramp controlled from a remote multi pushbutton station. Includes means of lowering the dock ramp below platform level with lip retracted behind dock bumpers. The loaded ramp’s free fall is limited to not over 3” (76mm) by a hydraulic velocity fuse. Unit shall come complete with a 1HP, totally enclosed fan cooled (TEFC) motor totally enclosed and equipped with overload protection. Power pack mounted underneath the deck ramp.

Remote PB Control Station: Provide a multiple push button control station with constant pressure ”UP”, ”LIP” and thermal ”RESET” buttons, ”MANUAL/AUTO” two position selector switch and push/pull mushroom style ”STOP” button c/w supervisor key over ride and signal light for door and dock guard. Control station is NEMA12 (dust tight and drip proof)) rated, 10”W x 12”H x 5”D (254 x 304 x 127mm) in size w/ English/Spanish/French instructional language.

Communication System: Interior override light for door and dock guard to signal guard is temporarily down during unique loading/offloading applications. The light will illuminate constant when the override key has been activated.

Rated Capacity: Welding procedure compliant with A.W.S.D1.1 98 specifications. All units rated in compliance with ANSI MH14.1. UL approved electrical components. Dock Leveler capacities available from 30,000lb to 80,000lb (13,636kg to 36,363kg). Structural deck support to include minimum six each high-tensile solid steel I-beam members. Door and Dock Guard rated to stop 10,000lb (4,545kg) rolling loads at 4 MPH (6 KMH).

Finish and Colour:

Dock Leveler: Toe guards painted safety yellow as specified by ANSI Z535.1. Remainder of unit painted gray. High visibility OSHA safety striping on stationary side toe guards.

Door & Dock Guard: Painted safety yellow with high visibility safety striping.

Warranty: Standard ten-year structural on dock leveler. Five-year on power pack. All other items one-year parts and labor warranty from date of shipment. All warranties are subject to standard limitations on liability. Consult All-Rite for full details.
